"After initial booking, don't expect much more help from the booking agency. And if French is not your spoken language, hire or ask a french speaking friend to help with booking the vendors. The recommended caterers are ok. Book the times 30 minutes earlier to ensure it's on time. And make sure ALL details are in writing and explored, or you may be disappointed."

"A lovely welcome from our property manager and the caretaker was very helpful when we had a medical problem with one of the teenagers. The pool was well looked-after although the sunbeds had seen better days and need new cushions as there weren't any. The property was large and fitted our family of 14 comfortably. A few more fans in the bedrooms needed and velux windows that open for more ventilation. Lots of interesting villages and markets nearby to visit and kayaking and paddleboarding down...

"I stayed at this beautiful property with a group of 11 people - from 5 to 75 years old. The house is beautiful, just as pictured. The rooms are big, and there were plenty of bathrooms for everyone. The location is beautiful, but it is far from the closest town, so I'd strongly recommend renting a car. The host was wonderful and quickly addressed any issues. The only two minor issues were that there's only AC on the third floor and it was very hot when we were there, so the rooms and the kitchen...

"This property is amazing. Estelle the host is truly amazing, so helpful. I have booked a few properties all over the world and never had such a helpful host, the others tend to put barriers in place but Estelle couldn’t have tried harder. If you have anyone who struggles getting upstairs just be mindful and maybe don’t put them on the top floor. The bedroom with an open bathroom probably needs walls. "Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette demeure, nous étions 4 couples et avoir une salle de bain dans chacune des 4 chambres était vraiment top. Mis à part les chaînes T.V. en anglais, un manque de casseroles ou gros récipient pour faire à manger pour 8, l'équipement est complet. Bel espace de vie, magnifique exterieur. Très belle région, plein de choses à faire et à voir. Les habitants sont très sympathiques commerçants ou particuliers. Beau souvenir. Je recommande fortement."

"I am a bit biased as this chateau was the home of one of my ancestors in the 16th century. I took my 85 year old father there with other members of our family for about a week. It was an excellent base for our side trips to Poitiers, Tours and La Rochelle. In several rooms, here are copies of a well researched book (in French) telling the amazing history of the chateau. Richard the Lionheart and his mother Eleanor of Acquitaine stayed here. It can be a bit cool inside during cold weather because...

"very well furnished house for a large group. With friends and family staying in the vicinity, we were able to have up to 25 people for a dinner or a lunch without too much effort. Everything is very simple, but in the winter with all the coats and shoes, we lacked space to put things away or hang them. The heating was barely coping with the vast spaces, luckily it wasn't too cold. The kitchen is fantastic, and overall we had a great Christmas time."
