Newly renovated cottage steps from the water

A unique piece of paradise in North Bimini, the “West Wing” (named for Richard Nixon, who came to Bimini to escape the public, and for would-be-President Gary Hart, whose career ended after an ill-advised cruise to Bimini aboard the aptly-named "Monkey Business") has a clean and comfortable living area with a full kitchen, nestled in a lush half-acre enclave. Enjoy our deck for outdoor BBQ, or hang out on the dock to watch the boats go by and the fish swimming below. The property has 100 feet of waterfront and a large dock. No additional cost for boat docking; boats up to about 30' have docked here (low tide about 34"). No canals, no condos. The West Wing offers an authentic Bimini-island experience outside the resort and the condos, without sacrificing creature comforts and style. A private, gated property steps away from a friendly local community with great restaurants, bars, and stores. If you want a larger gathering with family or friends, we have two other cottages close by on our property (see #2814314 and #2881517). A quick cart ride south to Radio Beach and the attractions of Alice Town. And a quicker cart ride north to the restaurants, casino, and other offerings of Resort World. Starlink high-speed WIFI for Netflix (or checking in at work, if you must). Swim/snorkel right out front. Spectacular sunrises, sunsets, and rising moons are just out your doorstep!

better than expected
The place is located in a very quiet area on the island. A short walking distance to all the places you need, grocery store, liquor store, secluded beaches, restaurants, etc. Getting up every morning and watching the sunrise off the dock and drinking tea was incredible. Watching sharks, rays, barracuda and sea life off the dock was a big plus. A definite return for us!

Best VRBO in Bimini
This review is a 2-for-1 since we started in the smaller two bedroom unit (west wind) and then switched to the three bedroom (Ernie’s) after another group cancelled . Both units are excellent. My only complaint about west wind is that unlike the other units, it did not have a water carboy. Ernies’ is an incredible space. Great view, big living room dining area and kitchen. We were just three but this place can comfortably sleep 8+. For boaters, I have docked a 54’ center console here. You have to take care and stay in the channel, but the dock itself can handle a 4’ draft. There is water, but no shore power. All three units in this complex are beautiful, clean, and well appointed. They are my favorite place to stay when I'm in Bimini. Cannot recommend enough.

Host is not flexible
Have stayed at the property before. Overall it's a nice place. However, do not book this place in advanced, especially if you are crossing with a boat. The weather turned bad with the hurricane and made it unsafe to cross the Gulf stream . The host would not reschedule or refund. Also, the host was doing some weird things like requesting me to communicate with the current renter because he wanted to stay longer. The host could have extended his stay and shortened mine. But he wanted me to work a deal out directly. We contacted VRBO and they even tried to convince the host to be flexible and he wouldn't. Just be warned. Great little spot but the host will not work with you. Book last minute only.

Great place …after check-in hiccup.
First time to Bimini and chose this place because boat dock was included in rental fee. We were in the 2 br 2 bath cottage that was well equipped and clean (it does have keurig that is not mentioned as an amenity). It is not on the water - it sits behind the larger 3 br cottage - but is a very short walk to the water/dock. Location is about mid-island; literally next door to My 3 Daughters restaurant. Had decent communication with prop mgr in months/weeks leading up to arrival. Asked for help with a golf cart a month in advance but got no response to that request until 2 days before arrival. By then I had already secured one. Day before arrival I asked her for location and entry directions. That evening she screen shotted a message I had received re location from the owner in January when I rented the property. She didn’t answer question about entry day before or in morning of our arrival. I tried calling her after our 3 pm check in time but got no response. We finally tried last four digits of my cell number about 3:30 and were able to get in unit. Prop mgr responded about 5:30 pm with completely different code?? Owner replied via vrbo app around 7:30 pm with correct code and an apology. To his credit he did refund us one day rental for the miscommunication. Great stay and great location other than (major) hiccup re entry into the unit.

Nice cottage rental on a sketchy island
Exactly as advertised. A/C was very good. Bedding was very good. Clean property, which is very difficult to find in Bimini. Docks were also very good, although shallow in low tide which is normal.

Absolutely amazing!
I can’t say enough good things about our stay. We brought our boat across from Ft Lauderdale and it was so convenient to be able to dock right behind the house. The golf cart was there as requested and the house was perfectly clean and welcoming for our vacation. The property was lovely, the location was perfect and we were able to take the golf cart out for groceries, meals, to visit our friends on the north ended of the island and MOST enjoyable, our daily visit to Nate’s for the cinnimon bread! It’s worth the entire trip for Nate’s! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and we will be back! Shequira was on top of everything and made sure we had everything we needed.

Great dock for Jetskis
Our group came from US on skis and the dock and property is perfect for it. The sand bar that is in between the main channel helps break up waves. Property was clean and if we ran I to anything they were there to help. We had a great time.

West Wing cottage
The cottage had everything we needed. It's nicely decorated, clean and very comfortable for my family of 5, it could probably fit 7 people comfortably. The property is beautiful, private and the convenience of the dock was what we were looking for, for our 31ft contender! the view of the water is absolutely gorgeous! Shequira the property manager was amazing she recommended places to eat and even had a golf cart waiting for us! this will definitely be our place to stay in Bimini. I Loved it!

Great getaway
The property manager was incredible. Shequira had everything lined up for us including golf cart. Gave us all the info on where to eat, buy groceries, and hang out. Loved all the marine life around the pier. Incredible

Was a great location. Easy access & dock was good.. we spun a hub & left out extra st home ( accidentally) neighbor pastor Chris used to work at home saved the day awesome family.. will deff rent again. Right in the middle if north Bimini so everything is a short ride away. & a bar with music is 4 min walk north.

A Boaters Paradise
We had the pleasure of staying at the West Wing this weekend, 1 of 3 cottages on the old “Ellis Cottages” property in Bimini. The site couldn’t be more perfect for our small group. Rental includes a dock for a 28’ boat which is just what we needed…I recommend bringing decent fenders since the dock is locate off of the main Resorts world bimini channel and boats do tend to speed past at all hours. Good news is that the sand bank takes most of the hit before it reaches the dock. Still recommend fenders! The house location is perfect for walking into town… everything you need is within two blocks including the grocery store. We did not rent a golf cart this time and honestly didn’t feel like we needed it. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners of the property, Joe and Karen! It was sweet getting to know them and the history of the place. They truly love this piece of paradise and their efforts to make your stay comfortable and pleasant show in every detail. We had a wonderful time at West Wing and hope to return again soon with more family. Highly recommend it :)

Bimini Bliss
The cottage was perfect for our visit to North Bimini. The cottage and grounds were well maintained and the host and onsite manager were very responsive to any communication. We loved having a slip on property for our 26' Tidewater, which offered plenty of space. The cottage was as described and is located very conveniently to all the main attractions. We will definitely be back!

This cottage was great! It was clean and in a very good location. Having the dock right there made it easy with the boat. Being able to swim and snorkel right in front of the house was a huge plus. I will definitely return and stay at any of the cottages in the near future.

A Boater’s Paradise
My husband and I just returned from a glorious 8-night stay at the lovely West Wing Cottage in Porgy Bay, Bimini. The cottage is one of three located in a private, gated lot on the Harbour side of North Bimini, just steps from the water and a secure dock with multiple slips to accommodate several sized vessels. We boated over from Ft. Lauderdale with our 26’ Sea Hunt center console and could not have found any better location for this boating-themed trip, which was made to celebrate my hubby’s 50th. The owner, Joseph Curran, was very responsive and helpful via email from the moment we booked through our departure. He pre-arranged for a golf cart to be available upon our arrival, sent detailed information on where to find various grocery items and supplies on the island, and was even helpful in locating fuel for the boat and a private fishing guide for a day. The island of Bimini is a poor one, but this little gem of a property stood out from the rest of the housing, being well maintained, tastefully appointed, and carefully landscaped. Access to a shared laundry facility was convenient and meant we did not need to overpack for the crossing. The air conditioning units were in excellent repair and well located to keep the unit cool and comfortable, which is most appreciated after a long day in the beautiful Bimini sun! The location is excellent, could not have done better. Located just about halfway through the 7-mile island, we were never more than a 5-7 minute golf cart ride from anywhere. I should also mention that the lot is immediately adjacent to the very well known Three Daughter’s restaurant and just a 3 minute walk to a new place called Smitty’s that appeared to be locally owned and operated, and was quite tasty! In less than 2 minutes, we could hop on the golf cart and cross Kings Highway to access Spook Hill Beach, which we had completely to ourselves the two days we visited. There are nice flat rocks lining the shoreline there which made for great snorkeling, without limiting your ability to walk straight into the sand in between them. I could continue, but by now I hope you are just itching to hit the Book Now button. You won’t regret it!
