Black Walnut forest retreat - heart of convenience

This Black Walnut features 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with very comfortable beds. The master bedroom offers a queen-sized bed and a workspace. The second and third bedrooms have king-sized beds and workspaces as well (including a sit-stand desk), ideal for couples, friends, and if you have to work remotely. The fourth bedroom has two twin XL (Extra Long) beds, perfect for kids or adults.

- Enjoy each other’s company with the openness of the main floor, where the kitchen, dining, and living room all come together. The live edge dining table seats 8, and the kitchen is fully equipped, with an island for easy cooking and entertaining. The dining area leads you directly to the peaceful patio, where you have no neighbors but the towering trees in the backyard. The patio has a propane grill and warm string lights for al fresco dining.

Fine enough but needs a better cleaning crew

The bathroom flooors were dirty. I killed a roach and one of the bathroom towels was covered in black fuzz which I didn’t notice until I was already toweling off and looked like a wooly mammoth. Some of the windows don’t stay closed and they don’t lock. Only one AC and the thermostat is downstairs so upstairs was hot. We weren’t at the house much during the day so thankfully it didn’t matter.

They've tried to make it comfortable by leaving lots of little toiletries and kitchen items available, however, this is still an old property with several items failing. Thankfully the low price reflects that this is not a premium accommodation. We chose this property primarily because small dogs are allowed and because the location is very convenient for Marietta events. The property's shortcomings are tolerable for a 1 or 2 night stay, but by the end of our week there we resolved never again. I do want to commend the telephone support team that's been contracted for this property, they were far more responsive and available than the host. They went above and beyond on our first night by arranging for a Nest thermostat charging cable to be delivered within the hour.

Great Location but could use some TLC

Great location in an older neighborhood! The house was spacious (great for a family!) but needs some serious TLC. The front yard is overgrown with (thorny) bushes over the stair railing and the back deck was covered in water and leaves. The kitchen utensils/supplies all needed washing before use and oven needs to be replaced. The living room furniture is very worn and there is only one small (old) couch for seating. Kitchen and bathroom faucets were loose and downstairs is damp. The beds were comfy though! Would stay again if changes were made and deep clean done! :)

Nice property and responsive host

The only suggestion we have is to have more bath linens on hand, or advise guests they are limited. There were only 4 bath towels and there were seven of us staying at the property. We did have a minor issue checking in, but it was not really the host's fault. We were delayed in arriving and it was pitch black so we couldn't see the lockbox near the front door. A call to the host resolved the situation quickly. We felt bad having to call at midnight, but the host was very understanding.

Great Home

I initially found this house listed on air b and b and when I was unsuccessful with booking it, I reached out to the host who also listed it on VRBO for us. They were super accommodating from the initial contact and helpful. The house was spacious for the guest count and was very well stocked with anything you would need. The location was ideal and close to the interstate.
