"Given the ratings/reviews & my experience with similar caliber properties around the world, I was disappointed in certain things. The security guard at the front gate of the property was extremely rude. Didn't welcome us but asked what we were doing there. Our driver was very taken back by his behavior & said he's never seen anyone so rude at this establishment. Two days prior to arrival, I was sent an email form w/ one of the questions asking when we'd be arriving. I selected the noon-2pm...

"I thought it was on a beach, but its across the street from a beach. I found out the locals dont really go into that beach. Also its close to the airport which waa nice but its far from everything. Its definitely a place to spend 1 or 2 nights just for the aesthetics. It rained the first night so the view was superb. Even at day break and dusk the view is amazing. There is no tv so we had to find other things to pass the time. "

"A great place to stay. We just had a single night there before flying out of Dominica, but it was perfect. Nigel was very helpful and his dog Spice was gorgeous! We had a relaxing couple of beers and then some good food before an early night (as it was an early flight to Barbados)."

"I wish I'd had more than one night to relax at this little gem of a hotel on a little gem of an island nation. The hotel arranged a taxi from DOM airport, and I was welcomed warmly and thoughtfully upon arrival. My particular needs were met with great care. My room, really a suite, was well appointed and included a fully stocked kitchen. Everyone on staff was polite and accommodating. I had a late lunch at the hotel's restaurant. "It was a very serene lodge. We only got to stay one night but the room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We slept with the screened windows open and could hear the rain all night. It was such a good night’s sleep. The hosts were wonderful and we had a Continental Breakfast of fruit, avocado and toast and an excellent chicken and rice dinner with avocado and vegetables. I would like to return for a week or more."

"Beautiful location! So secluded and peaceful. Eveything was immacualte and exactly as described. Comfy bed, hot shower, washing machine, gas stove, full size fridge and freezer, beautiful patio. Would absolutely stay again without a doubt."

"I totally enjoyed my stay at Mangoes. The owner was very accommodating, pleasant and very customer oriented. My trip was a business trip, it is 25mins to Roseau but after a hectic day at the office Mangoes was ideal for relaxing. There are lots of mosquitoes but that is expected with the location but a huge net covers the bed and I had lots of bug spray. There is not much to do in St Joseph so having a vehicle is recommended unless you are happy remaining on the compound. If I ever return, this...

"Nixson and his mother are lovely. He took time to make sure I was comfortable, and kindly shared his knowledge of the plants in his garden with me Fridge, hot shower, comfy bed, nearby shops, atm, restaurants Some mozzies but there are nets so I slept great I went to Batibou beach nearby, about a 1hr walk, or 10 min drive. My jaw was on the floor 😍 I enjoyed my stay. Thank you"

Christine is a kind and attentive host that was very flexible and accommodating with check in times. Lee’s restaurant and bar, Love @ First Bite is incredible and he is a great guy.
