"The hotel was generally clean and the staff were very friendly. The hotel was a little tired looking and the room could have done with plugs by the bed and a shower that didn't soak the floor, but it was very spacious and perfectly comfortable. When we came back late from a wedding party the reception desk was unmanned (with a sign), but the computer was visibally still logged in and easy for anyone to access (mirror behind reception desk displayed this), which was a bit of a worrying GDPR...

"For the price this was a reasonable stay. It could be so much better if there was a real deep clean of the spa and changing room areas. "The interiors are well thought out, decorated with quality and often unusual items. I especially loved the Lloyd loom dressing table chair on castors, presumably once an office chair. Really comfortable bed and chairs in the room, lovely toiletries, good tea, coffee and biscuits selection. We were very lucky to have a marina facing room with a little balcony. We had a couple of drinks on room service, all very prompt. The bar area was a lovely area to relax in the evening and the restaurant...

"The situation was excellent, the staff were excellent but the property was very tired and in dire need of redecoration. The garden areas in the lodge where we were staying were largely overgown and uncared for which was a shame. The staff were excellent and very helpful. With investment, this could be a 4/5 star hotel given its location. Presently, it is 2/3 star at best."
