Welcome to Douglas Cottage

Walk in feeling refreshed at this beautifully decorated cottage in the center of Douglas, Michigan. The new vacation home has so much to offer, three bedrooms, a large yard, great location, and the bonus of being practically neighbors with Farmhouse Deli. This home will leave you feeling relaxed as you discover the beauty both inside and outside of this home.

INSIDE THE HOME
This single story home will leave you breathless from the moment you arrive. Walk into this freshly designed home with an ample amount of natural light. The kitchen is fully stocked with all your basic needs, dining for 4 with 3 bar stools at the breakfast bar, a spacious living room, three bedrooms, and two full bathrooms. Settle in for the night by cozying up next to the electronic fireplace and turning on your favorite movie. Wake up and enjoy fresh air with your morning coffee by sitting out on the screened in porch that is attached to the Primary Suite.

OUTDOOR SPACE
Enjoy the outdoors on either side of the home. Walk out of the living room and be greeted with a fenced in yard that offers a firepit big enough to fit 6 around. On the other side of the home, there is a perfect screened in porch overseeing the large backyard with enough room for plenty of activities.

THE LOCATION
Right in the smack dab middle of Douglas, Michigan. Roughly a 10 minute walk to downtown Douglas or about half a mile. You are also within a walkable distance to Douglas Beach, 1 mile away. Downtown Saugatuck is 1.5 miles away. Directly next door are Pizza Mambo and Farm House Deli. This home has so much to offer within a 2 mile radius.

Friends Cozy Book Weekend

Perfect for the parade!
This is the second year in a row we’ve rented this house for the Douglas Halloween Parade. It’s in a perfect location, and we love the house itself. We plan to reserve it again for next year!

The cottage is very cozy and nicely decorated. The location is great. Close to beach & shopping. The only issues we had were the coffee maker did not work properly and toilet roll holder in master en suite fell off the wall when attempting to place a roll of toilet paper. We had a great time. Lovely cottage with everything our girls getaway needed. Walking distance to farmhouse deli, pizza, outside coffee and the root beer barrel. Short drive to downtown Saugatuck. Beds were comfortable and living spaces were spacious, cute and clean! Highly recommend!

Absolutely Perfect!
Extremely clean, comfortable, prime location and perfect for our friend getaway! Owners were super responsive, the place had so many outdoor areas to enjoy (firepit area, screened in back porch, etc.) Landscaping was excellent and there is so much to enjoy in this area! Loved the location! Walk to coffee and restaurants, short drive to beaches & Saugatuck. Bunk beds were a hit with the kids. Open layout was great, especially enjoyed the screened-in sun room off the Master. We will be back next year!

Beautifully decorated and comfortable
Our first impression of the Douglas Cottage was concerning as the front deck was missing. Once we got inside, though, our concerns went away as this is a truly beautiful property which is expertly decorated. We assume that they are in the process of rebuilding the deck. If we would have received some communication that this was happening, we would not have had any concerns. This is a split bedroom home with the master on one side of the house and the two other bedrooms on the other side. Thank you for sharing this lovely home with us. We really enjoyed our time there.

Great stay!
We had a wonderful time, such a convenient location, close to farmhouse, the root beer barrel, and the beach. We spent the weekend all over Saugatuck and Douglas and loved coming back to the fenced yard and screened porch at night. A really great house. Thanks for being such great hosts!

This property met everything we were looking for: Safe, one-level ranch, ideal for watching kids and toddlers VERY clean home Nicely decorated Different parts to relax in, including a screened in porch with comfortable furniture, a fenced in outside area, great family room and more Great location walkable to some restaurants, coffee shops, running trail to the lake, etc. The owner is thoughtful too, filling the home with essentials needed to get started and even books for adults and kids! An overall great experience!

Excellent getaway
We really enjoyed our stay at the Douglas Cottage. The place was very nice and just as expected. The location was close to the beach, a nice coffee place, running trail and some really nice cafes. The home was spacious and very clean with many updates. I would definitely stay here again.
