The cabin was very clean when we arrived. And not too far of a walk to the sand bar. However, there is poison ivy growing on the ground on the path to the sandbar. It was stressful trying to keep multiple toddlers running around away from it.
We had a blast playing in the creek and hanging out on the porch. Local family was able to drive out and spend time us. We also went down the road to snow boogers and had a good time.
The kitchen had everything needed to cook basic meals. The listing said there was a fold out couch in the living room but I don’t think it folds out. We tried to figure it out but couldn’t get it to work lol. There was a cat that hung around and let my kids pet it on the porch. It got inside and we had a hard time getting it out. It wasn’t a big deal, cats don’t bother us and my kids thought it was funny.
The only thing that was kind of frustrating was that I couldn’t find a phone number to contact the host. There was no signal or WiFi and the satellite went out. We did end up figuring out how to fix it ourselves but if it had been something more important, there was no way to contact the host without driving back a ways until I had enough signal to use internet and email the host and hope they respond soon.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much!
Don’t forget to pack bug spray! They are relentless in the evenings!
