Private Cottage in Cobble Hill - Central location

House of Ferns is located minutes from Cobble Hill village on a small rural farm property. The cottage has one bedroom and one bathroom with a full kitchen, dining area and living room.
The kitchen comes fully equipped and complimentary tea and coffee are available.
The cottage sleeps up to four people with a queen bed in the bedroom and a pull-out couch in the living room. Free net-flix and wi-fi.
There is also an outdoor deck overlooking the property where guests may enjoy the view and surroundings.

Excellent location
We stayed for almost a week in this location - it is centrally located for where we needed to be. The description I would use is rustic! There is the minimum supplies there - we liked that there was enough coffee supplies to get us going. There is a bottom suite but we only heard them a couple times and it was always during awake hours. The couch is a bit firm so when we were kicking back at night it wasn't the most comfortable but really not a game changer! Stove/oven is a gas model so that would be different for someone not used to that - we have had them so no biggy for us.

Good place!
Very cozy, but quite hard to find. The interior is very nice, lots of wood. The master bedroom is spacious but the bathroom is quite small, you could fit one other person while someone's in the shower comfortably. If your party is more than two people, be wary that the pull out bed (couch) isn't super comfortable, but it the does the job. Wouldn't hurt to bring your own pillows either. The owner was very nice and helped guide us to the place, great view out some of the windows too.

Unfortunate Urine Smell
There was a strong urine odour coming from the bathroom. Upon closing the door because of the smell, when I went back in there it was ten times stronger. The property owner did have a heavy duty bathroom deodorant there but it did nothing to help. The only way it was barely tolerable was if all the windows were open and the bathroom door opened as well. I could smell the urine smell outside wafting as well. I spent 2 nights there but was out most of the time. When I reached out to the owner the day I left about the awful smell, I never heard back from him. If he can fix this issue it would be a nice place to stay but the smell ruined my trip.

Somewhat misleading
The location was perfect. I have seen all the ads that talk about having Verbo properties all to yourself. Not the case here. There was someone below us and a note in our suite to be quiet after 10 because of the downstairs tenant. In other places maybe this would have been fine but the space between us was paper thin and on our last night the person downstairs was on the phone...yelling, swearing and crying. From 11pm until 130 am and we were all getting up at 3am to travel. It was awful. We could hear every word. I emailed the owner through the app and it's been almost 24 hrs and haven't heard anything. Hopefully this was a one time thing. On a positive note the back deck was lovely. I honestly don't know if i would recommend this place or stay here again. The TV wifi cut out every 10 minutes. I did call the owner at the begining of our stay and he was helpful but i didn't ask him to look at it because it was slways night time when we were watching TV. I guess i would just say be wary. Also the Verbo fees seem a little steep.

The cabin was close to many lovely places to go. The cabin was private and self contained. You could have as much interaction with the owner as you choose. Lovely little kitchen so you had the choice of eating out or not. Owners were warm, friendly people.

Lovely stay!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely property! The suite was clean, well laid out and stocked with all the essentials. The back deck looks over the peaceful property. Very relaxing!

A nice quite cottage away from the fuss and muss, fully contained. Had all the room needed for a relaxing weekend, front room, kitchen, dinner table, everything needed for a family vacation or just the two of you. A quick 20 minute drive to the center of the city.

The location was good and it had everything we needed.
We liked the location and the deck out back where we heard, then saw, a Bald Eagle. Everything was fine other than a previous guest was smoking in the place and we felt that we needed to air it out before we could sleep there. I don't know what happened with this but it was cold and made the stay not as nice for us. Without that it would have been great.
