The Rocky at Stones Throw Away by Tiny Away is located just 35 minutes from the city of Toowoomba at Pittsworth/ Stoneleigh town. Surrounded by a diverse agriculture and farming community this location offers a one-of-a-kind countryside experience.
It's conveniently close to the Gore Highway and has attractions like Cecil Plains, Queens Park, Laurel Bank Park, Darling Downs Zoo, and the Bunya Mountains short drives away. This is a central point for exploring the area's natural and cultural highlights.
A comfortable, 139-square-foot accommodation is set in one of the best tiny house rentals and serene locations featuring split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities focus on providing you an opportunity to assist in maintaining an eco-friendly and sustainable footprint while you stay on the land.
We can provide you with Breakfast basket to cook in your tiny house or bring your own food as it is fully self contained with all you will require to enjoy cooking. Alternatively there are restaurants, take away and grocery shops in the main street precinct of Pittsworth. The water on the land is fresh and drinking ready from an artisan underground bore. Bottled water is provided and additional can be purchased.
Guest Access:
Guests can access the tiny house and surrounding property areas. We welcome you to freely explore the land and interact with the animals as you wish. Our land is partitioned for rotational grazing and agricultural activities aimed at regeneration. We encourage you to capture this unique experience with your camera and to leave only footprints behind.
We provide breakfast baskets available at $20 per person, with local produce and farm fresh eggs from the chickens. These baskets will require you to cook for yourself in your tiny cabins.
For special occasions, we can provide bespoke picnics, charcuterie boards, wine, beer, champagne, fruit and local produce to make your occasion extra special. These will be tailored specifically for your dietary needs and guests. This can be arranged directly with the property before your stay.

- Cecil Plains has a conservation park near Pittsworth that provides a peaceful natural retreat. Wander walking trails across woodlands and wetlands, perfect for birdwatching and observing wildlife.
- Queens Park Toowoomba is a beloved local haven. It features diverse sections including floral and botanical gardens and sports fields. The park also hosts community events like the Carnival of Flowers with walking and bicycle tracks.
- Laurel Bank Park, near Toowoomba's center, is a stunning park known for its manicured gardens, mature trees, and a scented garden designed for the visually impaired.
- Darling Downs Zoo allows you to explore global wildlife regions including Australia, Southeast Asia, Africa, and South America. The zoo houses Queensland's only African lions, white lions, giant tortoises, and other exotic animals.
- Bunya Mountains is home to the world's largest stand of bunya pines, tower 1100m above the Western Downs and South Burnett. Enjoy walking trails, hand-feed native birds, and revel in Queensland’s second oldest national park.
Getting Around:
By car:
- Travelling by flight from Melbourne/ Sydney or further afield will require you to fly into Wellcamp Airport in Toowoomba.
- From the Airport it will be a 20 minute drive west on the Gore Highway to the farm.
- The property is a lovely scenic drive of 2 hours from Brisbane, 2.5 from Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast.
- 30 minutes West of Toowoomba on the Gore Highway.
By public transport:
- There is public transport via a bus from Toowoomba to Pittsworth town. Please see Translink for times.
- Depending on drivers and availability: Ubers and taxis can be arranged for commuters.
Other Things to Note:
- Wifi is available near the main property, not in the Tiny house
- BBQ is available for use
- Smoking is not allowed in the tiny house
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Please be advised that we have livestock (and noise) on our property although quiet they can be vocal at times.
- Don’t forget to close the windows and lock doors when leaving the tiny house/ property
- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics (e.g., especially chargers)
- Mobile reception has good signals for Telstra, Optus, Vodafone
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charges.
Important note:
- Keep in mind that outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban and must be contained in the fire pit provided on the property.
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas.
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the [compost/cassette] toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
