"We loved our stay at Sabah hotel as a family of two adults and one child (9yrs old). We booked it for the pool mainly as we knew Sandakan town didn't have much to offer compared to other places on our trip. My daughter loved the pool especially the slides and they provide free pool towels which was great too. The rooms were cleaned daily and were very spacious and we had a pool view. The decor is a little dated and rooms a bit musty but the rooms had air con which was such a relief to get back...

"For the area of Sandakan that this hotel is in this is a pretty good option if you really have to stay here! I would not recommend the area at all. The staff here were very attentive and friendly. The room was adequate but the pillows were horrendous! Just lumpy lumps of hard sponge! The shower and sink use a pump system which was not smooth at all and you either had a ‘power’ shower or a trickle. "The accommodation and food was nice, we were let down by the tours and communication. The night walk was disappointing as we walked very close to our accommodation, so was not really the jungle walk we were expecting. However the river cruises were good, apart from being let down by our boat breaking down within the first 10 minutes of our tour and being stuck in the water for over 20 minutes.
