1970's Renovated,self contained 2 bedroom bach

Totara Bach Wanaka, is a comfortable, self contained 2 bedroom bach (linen & towels supplied), beside a large park (Kellys Reserve). 1.5km to town centre & 800m to the lake. BBQ, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine/ drier combination, TV, wifi, microwave, oven & cooktop, toaster, electric jug, heater & logburner. (We provide firewood). Separate toilet, outdoor seating & off street parking. Sorry, no pets.
The bach will be serviced weekly for stays more than one week.
We live next door & are more than happy to help with any local recommendations

Home away from Home

This property made you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. We were greeted by Angela, who gave us a few dining ideas and other information. The home is very well stocked and we enjoyed the position a short drive from the busy centre. The beds were really comfortable and it was a pleasure to stay in this lovely home. We would happily return:-)

Can’t thank Ange enough for a wonderful stay as we took on motatapu marathon. Comfortable, clean, well equipped and lots of little touches that make it a special place to stay. Owner went out of her way to make our stay a pleasant one - highly recommend!

Great Accommodation!!

We stayed at the Totara Bach for three nights while we were in Wānaka. The Bach is located in a quiet area and within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and Lake Wānaka. The unit was very well appointed; and everything was spotless. The well stocked kitchen allowed us to eat in each day to have a break from restaurants. Angela was also a great host who was always available and provided some great information on local attractions and activities.Will definitely look at coming back the next time we are in Wānaka. Definitely recommended.

Jet sprint stay

This little house was just what we wanted after long days at the jet sprints coming back to this batch was like having a home away from home very comfortable. Angela made sure we knew everything we needed to know about Wanaka etc. will be back to stay again if we go back to Wanaka

Home from home

We felt very welcome and comfortable. Communication with our hostess was excellent and helpful. Having basics in the kitchen cupboards was good for meal preparation and we enjoyed eating in the garden. The location was quite and the chairs and beds good for a relaxing holiday. Thank you.

Welcoming base for Wanaka adventures

We loved this bach, absolutely all the amenities you could need and Angela was very welcoming and helpful, sorting out an issue with the key immediately and bringing extra balls for the kids to play with, along with making up a bed in the lounge. Really helpful having fans as it was beautifully warm when we’re staying, and beds were very comfortable. Really great having a stash of pantry staples too, appreciated the range of teas! Thank you for your hospitality

Amazing Place!

LOVED this place! It's truly exceptional! In stark contrast to many short-term rentals, this place was built to be lived in and that made for a very comfortable stay. Honestly, I could live there! Plus, it has a well-equipped kitchen, high-quality linens and towels, comfortable beds, and the location is terrific. You're close to everything, but the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Great recommendations from the hosts. We loved them so much we would stay here again just to hang out with them!

Cosy and welcoming bach in a great location

I stayed here with my daughter and two of her friends over the New Year period. The hosts were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The bach is in a fantastic location, walking distance to the lake and town centre. Everything was set up so well, very homely and inviting. The furnishings, linen and everything provided was of good quality and everything was spotlessly clean. We loved staying here; only wish we could have stayed longer! Highly recommend :)

Angela was amazing in helping us to settle into our home for the week. We truly appreciated her and her husband. Our stay was everything we hoped for. We felt comfortable and at home in the house, and it truly has everything anyone could need over a stay. The property is safe and quiet. It’s close enough to town to get what you need, yet also far enough to stay away from the chaos that is downtown Wānaka. We would definitely stay again. The property is great for bikers, as it’s just a short pedal to the Sticky Forrest and other trails. Amazing stay!

Great getaway in Wanaka

We loved this place as one of our stops driving around New Zealand. The unit is spacious and well equipped. Our hosts were lovely and even loaned their golf clubs for us to play a round at the local course. Only downside is that you can't walk to much of anything -- would not be a good spot without a car. But it's a short drive to town.

A wonderful stay in WBaka

The property was very comfortable. It was in a quiet and pleasant location, with only a short walk to the lake. We were made to feel at home by Angela our host from the very outset. Angela gave us some really helpful suggestions about places to see. The bach was perfect for our group of 3 with all our needs supplied. If (when) we return to Wanaka we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Fantastic Bach!

We had a fantastic 4 night stay at the bach which had everything we needed and more! The hosts Ang and David were brilliant and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The fire at night was the perfect way to end each day after exploring the local hiking and biking trails. We will definitely be back, highly recommend.

Honestly Totara feels like home. It's cosy, it's one of those homes that feel like a hug. It's retro but in the best way. Very short drive to Wanaka town. The attention to detail was amazing and the toys were such a lovely touch. Thank you we'll be back!
