"The hotel is on an island of the Periyar river, surrounded by incredibly beautiful forests and streams. The best part is that it is 5 km away from the nearest village and there are almost no people around. A unique situation. When you sit on the lawn and watch the river rushing over its rocky bed, or when you bath in one of the natural pools in the river (or in the hotel pool), it feels like paradise. "For starters when I booked it said air conditioned room/ when I arrived it was not so wasn't impressed with hotels.com The place is nice, helpful staff and nice grounds man. The cottage is cute and a good size. It's a little challenge finding this place but it's well signed which is helpful. To get to the cliffs go through either bamboo village or the ally way next to it- along here is some cool shops and restaurants"
